Homework on the Weekends

There are a lot of parents that are like me and when their children have a lot of work to do then I suggest that they take two hours during the weekend to complete their work. If they start early then they will be done early and able to do what they planned. There are some parents that oppose this and think that children should have time to enjoy themselves; I agree but I also think that 2 hours on the weekend will help children understand that life does not revolve around play and that their ed… Continue

So Much to Do in So Little Time

Hello Ladies:

I have recently been playing catch up with the large amount of school work that both of my girls have been getting with their homeschooling courses. There is so much to do and I have to do it with two children while breastfeeding another, but here is some advice for mothers that need cut time in half and could use the support.

1. Get started at the same time everyday.
2. Be sure that you have everything that you are going to need within your reach.
3. Take it easy and do one less… Continue

Just a Simple Rule- Get Up and Get Dressed

Hello Ladies:

Although the girls are homeschooled I find it to be very necessary that they get dressed and begin their work. That means that they do their hair, put on their nice clothes, etc. so that they are focused on the day. I believe that when you look and feel good then it comes out in your efforts and works and so far so good. I know some parents think that a child should be able to relax and where their pajamas to the computer and that is good if it works for them, but I think

What Homechooling Means to Me and My Kids

Hello Ladies:

As you can see that this is my first blog and I would like to share a little about myself. I am a mother of 3 (going on 4 any day now) and my husband and i made the decision to homeschool our kids and we are pleased with the outcome.

We are living in a city where the crime rate is so high that the count is now at 375 and still growing. It makes me scared for my children and others.

We are aslo disturbed by the education that is given in the urban city school

Hi Mika:

Sorry that I was not able to answer sooner but being in labor and all..lol. The best thing to do is contact the homeschooling program that you are interested in and let them know you situation, they may be able to help you find someone that can help you teach your children at home. Not to mention that it may be a good idea for them to be taught at home because they won't have as many distractions. I would suggest the help also because homeschooling can be very overwhelming and it seems that you haver a lot on your plate already.

Good luck and let me know how it turns out!!!
