I work in a library so I am surrounded by books. The most recent thing I've read was "The Lecture". It made me think about my own life & how important family is. It made me think about what I would want my daughter to know about me, what lessons I would want her to know about life as she grew up if I wasn't going to be able to be around to tell her & teach her. It was really a good book. If you knew you only had a short time to live & your children were still young would you leave them something to remember you by & if so what would it be & how?

I just finished reading "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle. Talk about a life changing experience. It has taught me to live in the present moment. Nothing is more important than being present in everything you do. For someone like me who lived a life of anxiety, this book changed everything. I now don't think about what I have to do later today or tomorrow, I focus on now. It has given me a sense of gratefulness for each moment I have. I can appreciate my kids more and be there for them, not just nagging about what they didn't do but just "being" there for them. I'd love to hear from anyone who has also read this book!
