I have watched myself and other moms, let themselves go, and their dreams die. I have since made changes to that. The first being taking pride in how I look. Even if I just run to the store. What did you stop doing for yourself? And if you could change it or start doing "it" again, what would it be?
Oh, that is me in the passenger side of the car! Funny!
I was the same kind of girl that felt like I had to look perfect just to co to the corner store. As of lately, I have not been able to keep up on my hair like I use to and I plan to change that. I have great skin but I think that I did a better job on it years ago and I plan to do it again. And I am pregnant for the 4th time and I refuse to let this weight sit on me, I will take it back!!!

I just joined this site. I think it is great, and hope that it really takes off. I used to love to read novels. Now I barely have time to do anything. I would love to just curl up on my sofa and dive into a good book. I too have let myself go. I'm working on encorporating exercises back into my daily routine.
I just joined as well. I love to read books too, but since i have become a Mom, wife, and work full time i have no time either. I use to read a book a week, now i am lucky to read one a year. I have also let my self go becasue it takes alot to work at my job then come home and work as well. i am looking for an outlet , to find a new lease on life. Excercise is one thing i have to look into , but i need motivation.
Before I became a Mom, I worked out and my diet was healthy. This is my first child, and I just did'nt relize how much less time I would have. Although, my husband helps out alot I can't seem to find time to workout. I have decided to get back in the Gym and start back on my diet. I am getting back on track, because I am not really feeling the way I look. I think as Mothers we scarfice alot and whether see our children look good while we sit on the side line.

I think I'm probably like everyone else. I still take some pride but not enough...or as much as I would like. Like I wear my hair curly-wash and go type style--these days rather than flat ironed like I'd like. Plus, I don't get my nails done or hair done as regularly as I would like either.
Most importantly, I don't get in as much exercise as I would like...which means the body is no where near what it used to be.....it SCREAMS 'mommy'....I'm working on all of this.
I am so thankful for all the moms that shared! Let's make it a new year of taking care of our needs so that we can be able to take care of others. God bless you all and thank you. Merry Christmas! and Happy New Year!

After having my first child I truly understand how challenging it is to be a mother. The last few months have been very interesting! I never knew finding time for a shower or just a moment of peace would become a luxury. I have to admit I've really let myself go since the birth of Layla in Sept. As I type this my hair is screaming for some attention and dishes are overflowing from christmas dinner. However I have became more aware of what I put into my body and I've adopted healthier eating habits. For 2008 I plan to do more for myself, after all I have a marriage to maintain also! :)
Congratulations! This should be a beautiful experience! My husband's goal is to get to Ghana in the near future some how or 'nother :). He lives and breathes all that's Africa! Whatever information you could share about your planning this trip would…
